Domestic Violence Services

SCADP established the Angel Step Inn Domestic Violence Emergency Shelter in 1995 in response to the overwhelming yet unmet needs of battered, chemically-addicted women and their children. The shelter is part of our large domestic violence services division which includes emergency and transitional shelter, and walk-in center services:

Emergency Shelter. Angel Step Inn provides a 30-bed, 45-day shelter program for individuals experiencing domestic violence and substance dependence/addiction. Children between the ages of 0 to 17 years old can accompany their mother to the shelter. Angel Step Inn provides a strong emphasis on interventions and counseling for children entering our shelter.

Transitional Shelter. Our transitional shelter, Angel Step Too, provides s 36-bed supportive housing program for homeless survivors of domestic violence who are in recovery from substance abuse. Mothers and their children (up to age 17) and single women are welcome to participate in the six-month program which helps residents establish long-term self-sufficiency and residential independence.

Walk-In Center. The Angel Step Inn Walk-In Center offers domestic violence counseling, addiction treatment, mental health therapy, and group education/support. We also provide referrals to the community services needed by victims, as well as service advocacy and case management.
